Frederick Simon

Mr. Simon has over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry as a lender, developer, owner and operator of all product types both in the United States and abroad.  In 2012 Mr. Simon formed Vanderking Properties for the purpose of investing in value added real estate opportunities, primarily in the Southeast U.S.  Since formation, and in conjunction with capital partners, Vanderking Properties and related entities have invested approximately $75,000,000 across a portfolio of office, retail, residential and industrial real estate.

From 1994 through 2012, he was employed by and a Partner in Wexford Capital, an investment manager for a series of hedge funds and private equity funds based in Greenwich, Connecticut, with approximately $6 billion of assets under management.  Mr. Simon focused primarily on investments in real estate, hospitality, transportation, agriculture, timber and a variety of operating businesses.

From 1983 through 1994, Mr. Simon served as Executive Vice President of Greycoat Real Estate Corporation, the U.S. subsidiary of publicly traded Greycoat PLC and was actively engaged in all aspects of the acquisition and development of a 1,500,000 s.f. office building portfolio in New York City, NY, Connecticut, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. 

From 1980 through 1983 he was a senior commercial lending officer in the Real Estate Industries Division of Citibank, N.A.
